About Me
I am an artist, spiritual intuitive, and avid gardener. I grow most of my own vegetables and herbs.I live on a small, but beautiful nature preserve.
My Healing Kitchen
I designed my own kitchen and had it built with everything I ever desired in a kitchen. The style is Victorian, with a white lace embossed deep farmers sink and copper gooseneck faucet. I have collected over the years, lovely pink depression glass, and white cutwork tablecloths. My tea cups and dishes have rosebuds on them with a delicate gold trim. I have all antiques in my house and my kitchen table is circa 1800 along with the mismatched chairs. My kitchen heals me because for the first time in my life since I retired, I can spend healing time in the kitchen making my favorite teas, and wonderful dishes of all my favorite ingredients. I wash dishes by hand which I find very soothing, and take my time hand chopping my home grown vegetables.
Tips and Tricks
- No matter what your budget is you can make your kitchen a healing place. You can paint it any color that comforts you. In my early years and newly married we were on a tight budget so I bought a inexpensive gallon of paint and sewed little curtains. I bought a tiny little table and two chairs and stained them in a beautiful mahogany color, and did the kitchen in pale yellow and fern green accents. It was lovely to me, and I was proud to have my first kitchen, even though I could not cook! The most important thing is to make it yours, no matter what.
