Why I Chose Laserpuncture
For a period of twenty years I had gotten a cold sore once or twice a year in the very same place on my upper lip. Usually once in the winter and again in the summer. A friend of mine told me that her mother-in-law (a Japanese woman) took her to see an acupuncturist in Japan to treat a recurring cold sore and for many years she never experienced another outbreak.
About My Laserpunctureure Treatment
I decided that if acupuncture could heal a cold sore herpes virus then why not give my lip a laserpuncture treatment. I did a self-treatment of light from a standard pen light on my sore. I beamed light on the spot for 3 to 5 minutes about a dozen times each for two days. It seemed to hasten the healing process.
FYI - I was also taking L-Lysine tablets which I always take whenever I have a cold sore, also if I feel an outbreak coming on (itchy sensation on the outbreak spot).
It has now been 3 years since I've had a cold sore and I believe the laser treatment killed the dormant virus that would sometimes flare up. I've also not experienced that itchy sensation on my lip that normally precedes an outbreak.
Here''s a handy trick, clamp a clothes pin around the pen light to keep the on/off button pressed on during your treatment.
Advice
- Try laserpuncture during your next cold sore outbreak, it doesn't hurt.
- If you continue to have outbreaks, try traditional acupuncture.
