Question: Dog Howls When Riding in the Car
Dear Madeleine,
Since we
moved from South Africa to New Zealand my dog has become unbearable in the
car, even for short trips. I understand the flights here and the 4 month
quarantine he had to go through affected him. I would love to take him in the
car more but he howls constantly as soon as you put him in and I have to crate
him in the car otherwise he tries to come in the front and this makes for very
dangerous driving! He is an absolute pleasure in every other way.

Answer: Oh poor you! This is distressing for you. I feel Storm is just really worried about more change in his life and also yours! He feels your anxiety and perhaps stress at all the changes that you've had. Perhaps you could try the Bach or Bush Flower remedies for to help him cope and give him some homeopathic aconite before travelling to help him be a little calmer and to know that he is safe with you and that he will be staying put in his new home! Perhaps you could take some remedies yourself as it really helps you both. Sometimes animals can mirror what is going on for us so it really helps when we can both take something that helps us be happier in our lives and cope with all the ups and downs that get thrown at us!
Do hope this helps,
