How To Prepare a Flower Essence Dosage Bottle

By Phylameana lila Desy, About.com

Source bottles of flower essences are readily available in today's market. It is perfectly safe to use drops directly from source preparations you have purchased or from your personal stock jars. However, if you are taking more than one flower essence it may be more convenient to prepare dosage bottles rather than taking each one separately from the source bottles. Plus, preparing your own dosage bottles makes flower essences more cost efficient.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 20 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Gather Supplies - Tincture bottles, bottled spring water, preservative, stock or source essences.

  2. Flower Essences - It is best not to blend together more than five different essences in one dosage bottle. If dosages are taken four times each day as recommended a dosage bottle will last you ten to fourteen days. Decide on an issue that you want to focus on for the next couple of weeks and select the essences accordingly. You may personally intuit flower essences to include in your dosage formula on your own through meditation or muscle testing. Or, you could consult with a flower essence practitioner for assistance in choosing the appropriate essences for your purpose.

  3. Water - Spring water is the best choice because is naturaly infused with universal life energy. If you do not have access to bottled spring water, purifed or distilled water is preferrable over tap water.

  4. Preservative - You will not need to use any preservative if you are only going to preapare a one ounce dosage bottle that will be consumed within the next two weeks. But, if you are preparing several dosage bottles to be used over several weeks or longer you will need a preservative. Brandy is a good choice. Do not grab a bottle of brandy from your liquor cabinet. Purchase a bottle, dedicate it to the purpose of healing, and use it only for flower essence preparations. Dosage bottles can also be prepared with vegetable gylcerin or apple cider vinegar if you prefer non-alcoholic preservatives.

  5. Bottles - Glass tincture bottles typically come in one half, one, and two ounce sizes. Sterilize the bottles, caps and eye droppers with heated water or in the dishwasher.

  6. Fill the Bottle - Fill 1/4 of the bottle with your choice of preservative. Place 2-3 drops of each chosen stock remedy into the sterilized dosage bottle. Fill the remainder of the bottle with water allowing a little space for the eye dropper placement.

  7. Recommend Usage - Ten drops under the tongue four times a day. A one ounce dosage bottle will last approximately 10-14 days if taken consistantly.
