The Power of Theta
Friday October 13, 2006
Every morning as I'm nearing wakefulness I experience "Theta." This is when my brain is actively involved in my dreamstate. For example, this morning I was being enraptured by the beauty of a baby that was born without legs or arms. In place of limbs, the baby's body was encased in a fleshy egg that was beautifully tattooed with spiritual symbolism. In a few moments I heard the garbage truck noisily huff its engine as it rumbled down our alley... Friday morning is garbage pickup day. I was immediately pulled out of "theta." It was once I was yanked out of my dreamy state that I realized that a baby born without arms and legs in reality would be considered handicapped. The details of my dream faded away as I began my Friday morning... too bad, I was having a wonder experience in theta.
Theta Healing instructor, Michal Golan, has kindly contributed her article The Power of Theta Brainwave to Heal: How To Reach Beyond Your Beliefs. She gives the history of Vianna Stibal's discovery of using Theta for Healing, and explains the science too! Our brains are under the influence of theta when we dream, when we meditate, and when we are under hypnosis.
