Safety Barrier
- I am sure that RC's instincts about using clutter as a protective shield is right. I have realised that I use this method myself. We don't realise why we are collecting this "stuff", but like excess weight it sheilds us from the world.

Out of the cluttered minds of the past
- Over the years I became a clutter bug, not just physical items but even emotional ones I locked in my memory stacked in piles just like the stuff in my closet. After I moved in with my boyfriend I moved everything to a storage unit and there is sat for a year. Recently I moved what was left (I have been working on it) to another place so that the "final review and getting rid of it" plot can begin. When I saw this 5 week class I had to join and low and behold the first lesson was decluttering. I was thrilled to see I was doing the right thing. I am on my way but still have much to do.. sort through and after I do, everything from a past experience I choose to forget will be sent to the person they belong to i.e pictures and video. Once it is all gone I can start the real and hardest part of the adventure, emotional letting go. It took me years to get here but finally I feel I am on my way to a better me where I can allow new and more exciting things into my life.

Books and Old VCR Tapes
- I am now cleaning out my clutter. I have put my house up for sale. To make it look good to the person who wants to buy it I have started cleaning the books out of my life the old VCR tapes. It is feeling like I have lost 40 pounds.

Old journals
- I have written journals for the 30 years or so that I have lived in my present location. After an illness one of my projects has been to let go of these journals as they represent how I was feeling in that moment rather than feelings that I want to hang on to - so I chose to get rid of the journals. I'm still asking myself if I am doing the right thing.

Weekly Decluttering
- I always try to declutter my home on weekly basis. It gives me great satisfaction because I know that after doing this the energy flow in my house will be better. Not only the material decluttering is done I also enjoy doing Reiki purification fortnightly. Do this and see the change!

Telepathic Article
- Three days before, my daughter-in-law hinted about the clutter in my rack. I cleaned it on the same day. However the things I discarded still remain unattended. So I said this article is telepathic as I have decided now to throw things in garbage. Thanks for the timely article.

How Clutter Affects Emotional Well Being
- I am a packrat. I have a lot of things, but neatly arranged. I have many eclectic interests and I'm also afraid of being bored, so I am only happy if I have many things around me that involve my interests. I know I will never get around to doing everything, but it's comforting to me to know that they're there and available to me.

Small Home-Based Business
- I have a 4 room house and a small company that makes handmade safe Reiki infused dog toys so my living room is my work area. My bedroom has a divided area that is the office for both my toy company and my husband's trucking company. I try to store neatly and keep things put up but it is an impossible job. I do some (not much) packratting. I'm working on trying to whittle down on the clutter but it seems a never ending job. I really love my little house because it's friendly and warm but am at wits end at times. I need room stretchers. Paula

Struggling with Clutter
- I have pared down my possessions a great deal, but I still struggle with clutter. I think I knew it subconciously, but I never thought about how much clutter and disarray affected my emotional well-being until I read this article. I am planning to start a new path of cleaning and de-cluttering to help maintain positive energy in my home and to facilitate a more balanced emotional and physical well-being. It starts today - with the kitchen!

Decluttering and Clearing My Chakras
- Blessings to all. It sure was a wonderful experience clearing my room mandir (temple). Removing the repetitive God's pics helped to clear my heart chakra and my crown chakra. I haven't been to kitchen yet, but even clearing this room was an amazing experience. Thank you for this awareness. Love n Light to all channels and non channels. Rajiv

Great Article
- I'm inspired to tackle my home office for Top Secret Bookkeeping, secret is... I can't find it. :) I liked shared post from Brenda and clearly relate to her sense of well being. I cleaned my linen closet a few years back (still not too bad) and afterward, I would open the door to look in and admire how nice it looked.

Cluttered Kitchen = Blocked Heart Chakra
- I have had major heartbreak problems recently and my Reiki healer said my heart chakra had stopped spinning completely. Upon reading the article, "Spring Cleaning and Your Chakras" it says that the kitchen is linked to the heart chakra and my kitchen has been in a bit of a state for a few weeks. The kitchen is the only room in my house that is cluttered! Wow.

Sentimental Attachment
- When I go through my closets to get rid of things I find things I have not seen awhile but can't seem to get rid of it because for some reason it will have sentimental meaning. I can't part with it just yet and so it gets packed away again.

Decluttering Helped Relieve My Grief
- After the stillborn loss of my last baby, my husband started throwing stuff and clearing stuff out as part of his grief process. After I was well on my way from healing from the surgery, he had finally gotten enough of the junk cleared so I could start removing boxes, clearing out bins and actually getting all our living space looking like a home instead of a warehouse! When I was finished, the weight off of my emotional shoulders was tremendous! Not only did the work help relieve the grief, but it made my feel so light hearted I was finally happy to come downstairs in the morning and get started on the day! A week later we had company and I was so proud to serve them in our now nicely set up dining room. I still have things to declutter, but it's a process. I've found if I'm not in the mood to do so, I don't get rid of things as easily. I really like your idea of having boxes for each child to keep their special memories in!

Fear of Being Poor
- Just a thank you for a wonderful article on cleaning clutter out of our personal spaces. I'm 60 years old and think I'm just learning how to do that. It seems that I was always poor in my younger years and afraid that if I threw something away I would not be able to afford to replace it. Boy are old habits hard to break. I like the idea of starting with a small space, sorting into boxes, etc. Makes it easier to accomplish the task. I find that when I complete a small project like that I feel so much lighter, freer. A good feeling.

Clutter Used as a Protective Shield
- Hi, Enjoy your articles very much. A thought regards to clearing clutter, I have a friend, former lover, she has a SERIOUS case of this, I met her in the early 90"s, and as of right now, still the same, even though I helped her move to different place. I am not a psychologist, I have a "gut-feeling" she has all this "stuff" as a way of protecting her inner self from being hurt. I tried to talk and help her, spent years doing, until I realized this, then finally had to "let her go". Much like an alcoholic, until they realize THEY have a problem and, are ready to face it, and WANT to deal with "the stuff", all the "steps to doing" will do no good. This is just MY own personnel thoughts on this, I have been wrong before.
