clutter habit- its negative effects
- I hate clutter. I learnt a lesson of decluttering as she is in the habit of hording articles and money. Being in spirituality, astrology and meditation, I soon learned that the main cause of being in depression was this habit of cluttering. No counselling could make her change her mind. So I moved out of the house. To keep myself healthy and peaceful and keep all my chakras energized I throw away useless stuff or donate them to needy. It keeps me mentally free and has freed me from the habit of clinging to things physically and emotionally.

Be Deliberate When You Let Go...
- We hurry all the time. When we get to the clutter issue, that is a good time to slow everything down. I have been clearing out clutter in our attic. First, I go up there with a cup of coffee and I just sit for awhile, looking and looking at everythng. I usually bring along three or four empty boxes, open them up and put them side by side. After I have quieted my mind and gotten relaxed I simply walk around and pick things out and drop them into the boxes. When they are full, I seal them so I do not peek and backslide. They go to charity the next day. What happens is you feel a profound sense of relief when you finish. This whole process brings you very present-moment into your life. It shows you who you are NOW and not when you originally gathered all that stuff. It was not clutter at first, but it sat and sat and became stuck energy. Now is the right time to let go. You will only feel healthier and lighter in your Spirit. Positive energies to everyone doing this important work. - C.G.

De-clutter detox
- Thank you so much for this fantastic article! I am currently sorting through my possessions as we are planning to move half-way across the world next year and I refuse to pay a fortune for shipping to send things I don't need! I am finding it really difficult to get rid of some things, which I tend to infuse with sentimentality (for example, books I received as school prizes, little knick-knacks that remind me of my grandmother etc). I am finding that a mantra of "if it will cost more to ship than to buy a new one, I don't need it" has really helped me. I'd recommend that as a way of helping you sort through your things- I've already donated 8 large garbage bags full of "stuff" to charity, and it feels fantastic. My house is easier to clean too!

I'm on my way
- We just moved from a 2000 plus sq ft w/shop home to a 1388 sq ft home. Needless to say we parted with a TON of stuff. I am getting it all ready for a garage sale which is hard. Everything has such memory. I have to say I feel much better in our new clutter free home. I am only surrounded by things I REALLY love. I feel lighter! Take the first step by doing one box or one room. Get help if needed, donate, sell, whatever but finally get yourself something you really need...space to be YOU.

Safety Barrier
- I am sure that RC's instincts about using clutter as a protective shield is right. I have realised that I use this method myself. We don't realise why we are collecting this "stuff", but like excess weight it sheilds us from the world.

Out of the cluttered minds of the past
- Over the years I became a clutter bug, not just physical items but even emotional ones I locked in my memory stacked in piles just like the stuff in my closet. After I moved in with my boyfriend I moved everything to a storage unit and there is sat for a year. Recently I moved what was left (I have been working on it) to another place so that the "final review and getting rid of it" plot can begin. When I saw this 5 week class I had to join and low and behold the first lesson was decluttering. I was thrilled to see I was doing the right thing. I am on my way but still have much to do.. sort through and after I do, everything from a past experience I choose to forget will be sent to the person they belong to i.e pictures and video. Once it is all gone I can start the real and hardest part of the adventure, emotional letting go. It took me years to get here but finally I feel I am on my way to a better me where I can allow new and more exciting things into my life.

Books and Old VCR Tapes
- I am now cleaning out my clutter. I have put my house up for sale. To make it look good to the person who wants to buy it I have started cleaning the books out of my life the old VCR tapes. It is feeling like I have lost 40 pounds.

Old journals
- I have written journals for the 30 years or so that I have lived in my present location. After an illness one of my projects has been to let go of these journals as they represent how I was feeling in that moment rather than feelings that I want to hang on to - so I chose to get rid of the journals. I'm still asking myself if I am doing the right thing.

Weekly Decluttering
- I always try to declutter my home on weekly basis. It gives me great satisfaction because I know that after doing this the energy flow in my house will be better. Not only the material decluttering is done I also enjoy doing Reiki purification fortnightly. Do this and see the change!

Telepathic Article
- Three days before, my daughter-in-law hinted about the clutter in my rack. I cleaned it on the same day. However the things I discarded still remain unattended. So I said this article is telepathic as I have decided now to throw things in garbage. Thanks for the timely article.

How Clutter Affects Emotional Well Being
- I am a packrat. I have a lot of things, but neatly arranged. I have many eclectic interests and I'm also afraid of being bored, so I am only happy if I have many things around me that involve my interests. I know I will never get around to doing everything, but it's comforting to me to know that they're there and available to me.

Small Home-Based Business
- I have a 4 room house and a small company that makes handmade safe Reiki infused dog toys so my living room is my work area. My bedroom has a divided area that is the office for both my toy company and my husband's trucking company. I try to store neatly and keep things put up but it is an impossible job. I do some (not much) packratting. I'm working on trying to whittle down on the clutter but it seems a never ending job. I really love my little house because it's friendly and warm but am at wits end at times. I need room stretchers. Paula

Struggling with Clutter
- I have pared down my possessions a great deal, but I still struggle with clutter. I think I knew it subconciously, but I never thought about how much clutter and disarray affected my emotional well-being until I read this article. I am planning to start a new path of cleaning and de-cluttering to help maintain positive energy in my home and to facilitate a more balanced emotional and physical well-being. It starts today - with the kitchen!

Decluttering and Clearing My Chakras
- Blessings to all. It sure was a wonderful experience clearing my room mandir (temple). Removing the repetitive God's pics helped to clear my heart chakra and my crown chakra. I haven't been to kitchen yet, but even clearing this room was an amazing experience. Thank you for this awareness. Love n Light to all channels and non channels. Rajiv
