Why I Consulted with a Medical Intuitive
I was having many health issues, and while doctors seemed to think they had diagnosed everything and they were doing their best to treat those illnesses, symptoms persisted. The treatments weren't working well, plus I was allergic to many of the meds, and there were side effects for the ones I could take.
About My Reading
The medical intuitive I went to see had worked in a medical setting for years, so she knew a good bit about anatomy, illness, and health. She reminded me, however, that she is not a doctor and by law could not diagnose or prescribe. She had me sign a paper to that effect and suggested I see a doctor for verification and testing based on the info she would discover. I appreciated her professionalism.
She requested I only tell her my name, date and place of birth, but NO other information about me, so she could get a clean read (without the influence of suggestion). She sat 6 feet away, settled herself into the proper mode (brainwave frequency?) and sat in silence a few minutes tuning in to my body before she began to talk, asking me not to speak until she was finished speaking, then we would converse with questions.
First, she correctly described my past health issues - childhood asthma (misdiagnosed as chronic bronchitis), severe allergies, both broken wrists (now well healed), my teenage tonsillectomy, a badly sprained ankle from college (still tight), strep ear in college.
Then she zeroed in correctly on my two biggest current areas of concern - the gut and the brain. She accurately cited numerous symptoms I was having and the conditions I was diagnosed with and made several suggestions for returning to wellness. She explained the causes from a physical perspective, then to my surprise named specific food allergies as a serious issue, particularly gluten. I've since learned MD's tend to under-diagnose all kinds of gluten reactions, be they celiac, allergic, or sensitive. No doctor had ever thought food allergies might be an issue. When I cut gluten and these other foods out of my diet, I had tremendous positive effects! The knowledge was a godsend.
Advice
- First I would be sure I got a good feeling about them. Then I would ask about their training (who trained them, for how long?) and previous work history. I'd require 2-3 references and actually contact them, and look for some evidence of basic medical knowledge or of having worked in a medical setting.
- Medical intuitives need to know at least basic anatomy and biology. That doesn't mean they will always suggest conventional healing methods, however, so try to be open-minded. "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophies." ~ Shakespeare
