Empty Nester Rock Collection - Stone Stories

Crystal Egg Collection

Name of Stone (Stones)

Assorted gemstones, each stone in my rock collection has been sculpted and polished into an egg shape.

How I Attracted Stone (Stones)

The chrysocolla egg was a gift from a friend. All the other eggs were purchased at different stores. The obsidian and orange calcite I found in Wall Drug while traveling through South Dakota. The jasper and fluorite eggs were purchased in Colorado near Estes Park. And ruby zoisite was purchased at the Vortex in downtown Iowa City.

My Healing Stone Story

I started collecting crystal eggs after I became an empty nester. The chrysocolla, snowflake obsidian, and yellowish-orange calcite represent my two sons and a daughter who are now adults living on their own. These three egg-shape sculpted gemstones fit perfectly inside an actual bird nest I discovered during a walk along a beach path. Since that time I have added two more "crystal children" (a blue and green fluorite crystal aand a jasper gemstone egg. These represent a son-in-law and daughter-in-law. The newest and smallest egg recently added to my collection is the ruby in zoisite is representative of my grandson born on June 7, 2008. I wonder how many eggs a family makes before my collection is complete.

Lessons Learned

  • Crystals and gemstones have their own language.
  • The energies and properties in each of these stones is as varied and unique as the characteristics and personalities of my three children.
