General Description:

Angel of Hope Wellness Center was founded in November 1993 by Dr. Therese M. (Terry) Cheski to provide a warm, comfortable setting in which to promote sensitive, compassionate, holistic pain and wellness counseling/psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, and naturopathy, with a healing presence and a Catholic-Christian value orientation - facilitating wellness and healing for body, mind, and spirit.

Angel of Hope has incorporated not only traditional psychotherapy with hypnosis/hypnotherapy, but also added naturopathic, alternative, complementary, and integrative modes of healthcare to treat emotional, psychological, and physical concerns.

One might consider Dr. Cheski the equivalent of a naturopathic psychiatrist. Like a allopathic psychiatrist, she is trained as a general health practitioner, and also specializes in mental health issues; however, treatments of choice focus on psychotherapy, with or without the use of hypnosis, emotional release, nutritional assessment, herbal, dietary, homeopathic, microcurrent and /or acupressure and without drugs or invasive procedures such as surgery or electroshock treatment (ECT).

In 2000, laboratory testing was added to Angel of Hopes list of services. Now, they also do in-house Integra BioTerrain nutritional and metabolic saliva and urine testing in addition to those tests performed by Great Smokies/Genova Diagnostic Lab.

Conveniently located on Milwaukee's southside, near the Holt Avenue freeway exit. Free street parking is available directly in front of the building on Oklahoma Avenue and on the 9th Street side. Office is located between 9th Street and 9th Place on West Oklahoma Avenue

NOTE: According to MapQuest, Angel of Hope Wellness Center is located on 8th & Oklahoma. That is incorrect. It is on the southeast corner of South 9th STREET (there's also a 9th PLACE) and West Oklahoma Avenue.
