The most impactful book I've read recently, is "The Magus of Strovolos", which is about a Greek Cypriot healer who was known as, "Daskalos." I liked it so much that I bought and read the two sequels to it ("Homage to the Sun" and "Fire in the Heart") that are now out of print and rather difficult to find.
Daskalos did a lot of out of body travel in his work as an "invisible helper", as he called it. And he taught students for many years before his death in the mid- 1990's.
Much of the work that he did involved the use of "thought forms", which are basically accumulations of energy that can be programmed to do specific things. (In truth, we constantly generate them... especially when we have repetitive thoughts about something. But Daskalos was very specific in that we must learn to create them on purpose... not by accident, as we typically do.)
Another idea that he mentioned was that we can willingly take on the karma of another person, out of service to them. And another statement he made was that if we know how to heal someone, but don't, then we take on the responsibility, and the karma, for them being in the condition that they are. Yet another was that with all of the quest for psychic "gifts" that people are on, once achieved, these gifts must be used in service of others and not for our own gain.
These books were filled with "A- Ha!" moments for me and provided many good laughs along the way. I liked them so much that I've bought and given at least 10 of, "The Magus of Strovolos" for friends of mine.
Definitely a worthwhile read...
