Are you ready to put on a happy face? Someone told me once that it takes more muscles to create a frown than to make a smile. I don't know if that is true or not, but I do believe that smiling is a much more natural reflex than frowning. Brooding or pouting does take a conscious effort. When did a frown serve you anything positive? Never, right? Try smiling even when you don't feel like it. At first it may feel phony or uncomfortable to force a smile when you are feeling anything but happy - just do it anyway. Smiling is an uplifting behavior that can turn that unsightly frown upside down and will likely reverse a grumpy demeanor into a happier state of mind. Smile at strangers. Smile in the mirror. Smile everywhere. Smiling can become addicting if you allow it!
