I have had several dreams about the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24, 79 CE/AD.

I have had several dreams about the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24, 79 CE/AD. Throughout my life, I have always felt so badly at the end that the city of Pompeii met when Vesuvius erupted but it wasn't until the past year or two that I've been having really vivid dreams.

In childhood, I had a very deep, unexplained fear of lightning and thunder. The second I saw it, I'd quickly take cover.

No documentary could ever adequately explain just how frightening that volcanic lightning was. The last dream I had it seemed as if the dust clouds were coming down to swallow the earth - they were getting lower and lower. The lightning was so fierce that it kept striking to the point where it would continually light up the sky for a full 30 seconds (even up to one minute straight). The thunder was *the most* horrible noise I've ever in a dream. It sounded as if the earth was splitting in two (from the few documentaries I've watched, that's what was basically happening within the volcano). In that last dream, I couldn't see or feel falling volcanic debris.

I never see myself dying but just reliving the horror of the eruption.

Since I've made the connection, my fear of lightning, thunder, and even black storm clouds has diminished (but not totally disappeared).
