I just bought Spydee about 2 months ago. He is a 14 YO Bay Quarab. He is fine when you ride him, but very hard to catch and shows a lot of fear of people on the ground. I would like to know why he is so afraid and if there is anything I can do to help? I have tried to communicate with animals for several years and am still not sure if I can and do not feel like I am getting through to him. I am concerned about his happiness and don't want him to be afraid anymore.
I am going to take him to a stable for the winter to ride and hope he will be happy about that.
Thank you,
Betty
Your lovely horse is showing me that he is incredibly sensitive to people's energy and he has been with someone in the past who has been very stressed and low on patience- so if anyone is not feeling 100% he will find it very worrying and feel that he might get something wrong and be punished for it - I think this has happened in the past, so perhaps the Bach Flower Remedy White Chestnut might help and perhaps Honeysuckle? These would help him let go of the past and stop thinking in a negative loop. Perhaps you could tell him any worries that you might have so he'll understand if you have an off day (which we all do at times!) if you talk it over with him he'll know he does not have anything to worry about! Do hope this helps.
