My name is Toby. I am seven years old. My Budgie Samson seems cross. He doesn't make happy sounds anymore and he seems to be stomping up and down his perch. Can you help me please. His friend died a few months ago and we play the radio for him to keep him company when I'm at school. I don't want to lose him as well. Can you tell me if he is feeling okay?

I'm sorry to hear that Samson doesn't seem very happy. He tells me he does miss his friend, but he also says that he doesn't like the radio station! He says you've changed the programme from lovely soft classical music to pop music and he says he doesn't like it! Try changing it back to the gentle classical music and see how he reacts then. Of course if you have any concerns about his health, contact your local veterinary surgeon. He obviously likes 'proper' music!!!!
