I really want a dog but my mum doesn't know which dog would be best for us. She wants a cross breed that is fairly small, won't shed a lot, will be happy to sit on our laps but also likes to run around. We have 3 children in our house from 9 to 16 years old. Would you please help my mum and I to find the best breed for us?

Something like a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel would be really good for you. Since I live in England I'm not sure of all the breeds of dogs you might have in OZ, but definitely something like a King Charles would be good as they are very kind, like to be lap dogs but are also gutsy when they need to be!
