Question: Does my horse have back problems?
Dear Madeleine,

My new horse Beauty keeps rearing when I try to mount her. She is very quiet normally but seems to get very upset when I get on. Can you ask her if she has some back problems that we could help her with? many thanks Fiona Dear Fiona

Answer:
Dear Fiona,

Beauty has had some problems in the past with badly fitting saddles and also someone has ridden her in a very unbalanced way. This has caused her some painful issues in her back which need addressing. A good sadler can check your saddle fitting and call in an Equine back therapist to check right through the skeletal and muscular systems of your horse. I will do some work to balance her emotionally to release any anticipatory fear of pain once the physical issues have been dealt with.

Best wishes,
