Reader Question: Dear Madeleine, Since my dog passed away three weeks ago I've been going through many feelings. After the first shock something got to me: I know that she will come back to me, literally, in the physical. I just feel her. I wonder if you could tell me how to help her find back home again? I know I have to wait for the right moment to come but if there's something I could do to keep the bond strong enough I would appreciate your advice. ~Christina
Answer: Dear Christina, Thank you for your lovely enquiry. I totally know how devastating it is to lose your best friend. I do totally believe that they will find their way back to us if that loving bond is as deep as it is between you two. You do not have to do anything. She'll find you when she's ready. Just keep telling her how much you love her and how much you are looking forward to seeing her again when she's ready. You will recognise her by the eyes and perhaps some little diosyncrasies that Audrey used to display.
This may not necessarily be a dog by the way! I had a very much adored goat and she has said that she's coming back to me as a cat as she would like to be able to curl up with me on my bed as opposed to being in a cold stable! I can totally believe this as she would have curled up on my lap if she could - and often did as a kid! I cannot wait to see her again! Animals can choose what kind of being they would like to return as and they can interchange species so be open to anything! My book An Exchange of Love: animals healing people in past present and future lifetimes, discusses all this which I hope will bring comfort to all of you out there who are coping with grief of loss.
Much love to you,
