It may be an old cliche, but remembering to stop and smell the flowers is very helpful for living a balanced life. Obviously it is great to be goal-oriented or focused on a completing a task. But, being wrapped up in the motion of reaching a destination or always rushing to meet a deadline can rob you of precious sights and sounds. For one moment each day, stop and look around you. Something beautiful is within your reach to be enjoyed right now such as a sweet-smelling rose, a child's giggle, a bird flying overhead, or a gentle breeze against your cheek.
