Personal Overview
I am a person who dislikes physical exercise. Basically, I'm lazy. I am easily bored with repetitive sequences. However, I became interested in viewing this video after reading Gurmukh's book entitled The Eight Human Talents. My understanding of Kundalini Yoga is that it is a spiritual-oriented physical regiment. This intrigued me, as I desire my whole body fed. In the past focusing solely on the physical aspects of exercises have left me feeling less than fulfilled. After a week of doing these exercises I am feeling revitalized in an amazing way. I feel as if I have a better mind-body understanding that by stretching my spine I will be stretching my mind. I embrace the soreness that my body is feeling from using lax muscles. I am aware that I have a ways to go, but am guessing that in 6 to 12 months of routine practice I may just be able to arch my body into an impressive backbend. Perhaps I am being too hopeful for a young woman who was recently diagnosed with early stages of osteoporosis, but I don't think so. If you were to view the youthfulness of Gurmukh (a woman who says she is 58 years of age in the taping of this video in 2000), you would be hopeful too. She looks fabulous!
