Holistic Healer Profile: Jero Gingsir

Jero Gingsir

Education / Experience:

Jero Gingsir studied Balinese Healing both with her adoptive father, a priest of Besakih temple, and at the Hindu University in Denpasar. She has studied the healing traditions of the Mexican Curanderos in the United States before becoming a teacher of Light Language in 2004.

She was born in Australia and has lived in Bali on and off for nearly 30 years. She was formerly married to a Balinese, has owned a handmade paper business in Ubud since 1992. Jero now divides her time between Australia and Bali. She became Bali Hindu many years ago and received her Balinese name at that time.

Jero support a community of Balinese artisans she has worked with since 1992, designing and teaching skills to them as well as marketing our products. They make handmade papers, albums, journals and cards, and in 2005 started making their own carved bone Goddess, Moon, Buddhist and Yoga Jewelry in workshops held in Ubud, Bali.

Jero says "In the Balinese tradition, after a period of intense trauma, I became a healer not by personal choice but by intervention from a higher source."
