Identifying Leaf and Flower of the Plantain
Common Plantain Plantago major
(c) Phylameana lila Desy
If you are outdoors and have been stung by a bee or wasp a remedy is likely to be readily at hand. Look to the ground. The common plantain grows in most yards, roadsides, grassy fields and parklands. It can be found growing during the months April through October. You will be able to identify it by its broad oval leaves and distinctive flower stem that grows erect from the center of the plant.
