Lemons have the highest concentration of citrate among all citrus fruits. Citrate is a natural inhibitor of kidney stone formation. Drinking four ounces of reconstituted lemon juice in two liters of water daily is suggested for reducing stone formation in patients prone to producing kidney stones.

Honey Lemonade Recipe

  • 1 cup of lemon juice (4-5 lemons)
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1 cup of honey
  • 8 cups of cold tap or filtered water
Pour 1 cup of boiling water onto the 1 cup of honey and stir (allow to cool).

Stir cooled honey/water mixture, lemon juice, and 8 cups of water in a pitcher. Store in refrigerator. Pour over ice to drink. Enjoy.
