Question: What is it about me that could be bringing psoriatic arthritis upon myself?

Full QuestionI have recently been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. I have had multiple surgeries because of it. I am currently taking MTX (chemotherapy), Enbrel, Vicodin and Predisone to treat the symptoms and pain. They are making me ill. What is it about me that could be bringing this upon myself?

R.G., male, age 54

Answer: Dear R.G.,

Your emotional body is struggling with an overall deadening of feelings, and of not really feeling loved. There is also a lot of fears of hurt, much more in emotional areas than physical. Of all the drugs you are taking Prednisone in particular has a lot of side effects. I would also look into using a high dosage of Curcumin which is an extract from Turmeric. Use 4000mg per day in divided doses with meals. In addition I would reduce consumption of fatty, organ meats and egg yolks, and increase consumption of deep cold water fish. You can also use fish oils if you don't like fish. Use 1200mg per day of EPA, and 800mg of DHA in divided doses with meals.
