![]() Amber Adopt Amberisms Into Your Life - Contagious OptimismFinding A Silver Lining Amidst A ThunderstormDefinition of Amberism: Saying something positive in the midst of a negative experience. My daughter Amber is our family's optimist. She is a natural blonde and has a sunshine personality which matches her exuberant and smiley appearance. Amber won't allow life's miseries to drag her down. She is the baby of our family, yet early on as a tot she was always the remarkable one who would say things that would lift all of our spirits during unpleasant moments. Her optimistic remarks as a child were so innocent and refreshing they would help us see things in a brighter light. She could easily turn our sadness and irritations into laughter and calmness. Because of Amber's contagious optimism it wasn't long before we coined her comments as Amberisms. Sometimes these Amberisms would be simple reminders that things could be worse. We don't always like it when we are in the middle of a pity-party to have someone point out to us that things could be worse. But, somehow when this sort of wisdom came out of the mouth of a young girl the impact of the words were stronger. Her positive outlook on life's experiences made our family's troublesome times drift away more swiftly, and also without leaving lasting impressions. If one of her brothers or I said something positive we would tell one another we had just processed an Amberism. I sure hope you have an Amber in your family. And if you don't, perhaps you will consider adopting some of Amber's views yourself. Her child-minded logical observations just made sense. Not much can be purer than that. Examples of Amberisms
