Question: I Need Help Making A Decision
I have always been interested in the fine arts and holistic health (homeopathy, flower essences). I have been doing both for a long time, but not getting anywhere with either. I feel I need to concentrate on one more than the other to really make it work, but how do I make this decision? So far neither can provide for me financially, and this is also a big problem. Any insight would help.
Thanks,
Julie

Answer: Dear Julie
I have found the same concern among many who have chosen to follow a holistic path. Because this way of life is not the 'norm' or 'mainstream', there is not the full support financially to be able to provide for yourself. I look at it like this... Holistic means bringing together all the various aspects of ourselves. I use the description of a wagon wheel with my clients. See yourself as the complete wagon wheel with several spokes on the wheel. One spoke may be flower essences, one may be homeopathy, another is family, another for intimate relationship,, and so on. These spokes make up your WHEEL OF LIFE. You are all those things simultaneously.
Now, think about your career having its own wheel within the larger wagon wheel. Think about all the various aspects of healing that you would like to bring to your clients. Maybe there are several other modalities for your to incorporate in order to present a complete 'package' of healing. Because you see the homeopathy and flower essences as separate from each other, you treat them as such, therefore neither can be complete.
Sit down, draw out the wagon wheels and begin filling in all the spokes. What is missing from your practice to make it complete? Your answer is in completing the wheel, not in eliminating one in favor of the other...
Blessings,
Jaelin
