I was a young Jewish girl in Germany
Memory: I was a young girl living with my family, in Germany, during WWII. I saw us leaving to escape. I don't remember if we were escaping because we were Jews, rather I think it was because my older brother was mentally ill, and the Nazi's were also condeming mental patients to death. It was night, and my parents were moving back and forth in the hall way packing suite cases, doing it all very quietly. I was sitting in a chair and my brother was seated opposite me. I tried to entertain him while my parents were packing. He couldn't understand why we were leaving or why we had to be quiet.I didn't bother to explain it to him.
