Making a list and checking it twice...

Friday July 18, 2008
No, I'm not one of those Christmas in July folks who simply cannot wait another six months to be festive with their trees and wreaths. The list I'm working on is not a wish list or shopping list for the holidays. full moon

Tonight is the full moon!

I am preparing for tonight's moonshine. The list I'm making today is for a full moon purging ritual

Preparing My Purging List

So far my personal purging list for tonight's ritual has only a couple of items on it, but I'm trying to think of at least one more thing to add to the list before nightfall. I'm superstitious. I know it is silly but I think that good things (also troubles) tend to come in threes. I haven't always had such a short list when I prepare for a full moon ritual. The full moon is the perfect time when I can begin the process of letting go of anything that is bothering me. Admittedly, I've dealt with some big fat issues in the past. Hasn't everyone?

Nope, I'm not going to share what the items on my list are. It's PERSONAL! Get it? Besides I don't want to say these things out loud, words written down or spoken can give them more power. The point is, I'm going to burn these words, turning them to smoke and release them under the light of the moon and send them away to the PURGING place for cleansing.

A full moon ritual is for releasing or purging the things in our lives that no longer serve us. Full Moon is an opportune time of the month for purging rituals to take place. The light from a full moon illuminates those things that are interfering with our spiritual advancements.

The full moon ritual doesn't have to take more than a few minutes and doesn't really take a lot of preparation. Check out my simple instructions for doing your own full moon ritual. You can do it solo or invite your friends over for an elaborate purging party. Have some fun, it doesn't have to be so serious. Where better to "lighten" up but under the light of the moon? Howling at the moonshine can feel quite intoxicating. Try it tonight or at the next full moon. I think you will find the process emotionally freeing.
