WOMEN'S DREAMS - 1 2 3 4 5

TheDreamDoctor Lucid dreaming is amazing, isn't it? We finally get to "see" the dreamscape!
Lydea can I ask a question?
TheDreamDoctor Please
Lydea is it lucid dreaming if you know in the middle of the dream that you are dreaming
TheDreamDoctor Yes. That is the definition - to be aware - while you still are in the dream - that it is a dream
TheDreamDoctor Talk about a peak experience!!
Stones77 can you direct your dreams from this state?
Lydea I occasionally have a dream of a dead relative visiting me and as we are talking all of sudden I'll remember hey they are dead and then the dream dissolves
lila when I figure out I'm lucid dreaming I wake up shortly afterwards - I guess I get so excited I startle myself awake - is this likely?
lila just take one question at a time Doctor....lol
Stones77 lol
Lydea lol
TheDreamDoctor Usually it is something so unusual in the dream - like speaking with a relative that has passed on - that tips us off that we MUST be dreaming. And yes, it is very common to wake ourselves up as soon as we recognize the dream state - because we get so excited.
TheDreamDoctor We have to learn to "keep cool" as it were - so that we don't "bump" ourselves out of REM
Lydea dang he's good!!! got two people at once
ladyhawk how about messages in our dreams
lila any tips on keeping "cool"?
TheDreamDoctor In tantric buddhist disciplines - where lucid dreaming is taught as a way to practice attentiveness and consciousness, maintaining consciousness in the dream state is called the "delicate balance."
TheDreamDoctor Tips are: Remind your self to not get too excited - seriously - and also remind yourself that it's just a dream - because consciousness, once gained, is easily lost if we forget.
TheDreamDoctor Another tip is to "dream" that you are falling backwards - which helps you to relax, and hopefully stay asleep
Lydea so what's the advantage practicing attentiveness? isn't this the time for the body to let go of consciousness?
kiszingafool quick question?
TheDreamDoctor Do you mean in sleep?
kiszingafool do you believe symbols mean different things for different people... Such as being naked except for a pair of socks?
TheDreamDoctor The advantage of pracicing consciousness is that it allows you to enter the dreamscape consciously, where yes, you also can control the dream, and your responses to it - to a certain extent.
lila Dream Doctor - are you addressing Lydea? with your question " do you mean in sleep? - (helps to put the name of chatter in your messages)
TheDreamDoctor Kissing. being naked almost always indicates vulnerability and exposure. The socks might be a personal symbol, but I would suspect that the naked would consistently indicate feelings of exposure and that people can "see through you."
TheDreamDoctor I was addressing Lydea
lila ty
Lydea yes thank you DD, I did mean in sleep
............................ Alicia joined.............
Alicia This is the first time that I've been at a chat room.
Stones77 so your answer to lydea, pretty much does indicate that you can direct your dreams in lucid state, right?
TheDreamDoctor I understand the value of releasing conscious control - as in sleep - but we are discussing using consciousness to gain access to a part of ourselves that normally is alseep - to relative degree. I willsay, though, that I definitely do not agree that practicing consciousness duirng Dream sleep is damaging, unhealthy, or should not be pursued - because we are messing with a process that ought to remain unconscious. There is no evidence for this at all.
lila welcome Alicia - we are chatting about dreams
Alicia Are you talking about self-hypnosis?
TheDreamDoctor Lucidity is usually such an infrequent event. The challenge is how to increase our access to the dreamscape.
lila sleeping - night dreams - lucid dreaming Alicia
Stones77 ok, thanks.
Lydea so how do you do that Lucid?
TheDreamDoctor The best way to increase our awareness of dreams is to keep a dream journal and to record our dreams. I was reading a stdy recently where a researcher took a group of people who averaged a recall of 3 dreams per week. After they practiced writing down their dreams for a month, they recalled three dreams per night!
Stones77 wow
kiszingafool (wow)
Lydea amazing
