first disclaimer. this is but one way of using rocks and that is the way i was taught by my grandmother. there are many other ways that work alsoi would like to start by talking about the care of your stones first

when a stone has been used for healing it is important to clear that energy before using again. also it is important to clean it before first time you use it

to clean stones i use many different ways - clean running water is one - such as a river - or bottled spring water that is poured over stones - i use the ground and bury them for awhile - i use moonlight for some and sunlight for others

here are some that i take to the ocean and clean and some that it bring the ocean to to clean

and lastly i use another stone to clean - gypsum can clear a stone in about 20 minutes - but it can also do other things for you

if you have a stone you like to carry but want energies other stones carry you can put their energy into the rock you carrry for about four days by using gypsum

you place the ones you want to put into the rock you carry on top of gypsum and the rock you carry at the side or end of the gypsum

make sure all of the stones are clear first.

Is intuition sufficient for deciding which cleaning method to use and for how long to clean?

it works well but only for short time

stones will generally tell you what they like and do not like brightfeather but i always start with clean running water

one other thing i do is sometimes i place my stones in drinking water and place under moon to charge water to drink for medicinal reasons

obsidian black/brown grounding, reducing cravings

red- balances sexual desires

rainbow- helps two people to move at same pace as each other - this one, rainbow would work for readings - also good as wedding gifts

moonstone helps one see differents point of view. also helps one see anything is possible, assist with moontimes for women (good to put in bath during moontime to soften cramps), and helps with visions during moontime - it is similar to a plain quartz crystal in teaching many points of view
