In Search of Yourself: The Beginning
Author: Janet Dian
Illustrator: Lena Hardt

I literally almost sat on this book when I first discovered it. I participated in a workshop on learning about the "OverSoul. " A copy of In Search of Yourself: The Beginning was placed on each of the attendees' chairs that were lined up in the lecture room. As I waited for the lecture to begin I briefly leafed through its pages. I was immediately amused by the books illustrator's (Lena Hardt) character drawing of "a being" which I would describe as looking sort of like the Pillsbury poppin' fresh dough boy with prickles. Cute!

In Search of Yourself: The Beginning is the first in a series of self-help book by Janet Dian. It is easy to read and the information clicks as plausible in regard to the questions we often ask ourselves about who we are? where did we come from? how come we are here? and... what's life all about? The author writes about the soul making a contract with its oversoul before incarnating onto the planet, similar to setting pre-birth goals or commitments to fulfill during the life span. She goes on to explain that we can continue to communicate with our oversoul through a channel that connects us during our stay here.

In the book's appendices you will find a selection of empowerment exercises to try, self-healing affirmations, and meditation helps.

About the Author: Janet Dian is a metaphysician. The approach she uses in her books are meant to empower her readers to discover who they are through self-awareness and self-healing. Other books in the "In Search of Yourself Series" are In Search of Yourself: Moving Forward and In Search of Yourself: Finding Balance
