At first it may seem like an undaunting task to keep a journal while dieting. But, in the long run it will help you stay on focus. You may think you're only cheating a nibble here or a nibble there, but writing everything you eat down on paper will keep you honest. Be sure to write how you feel as you progress. Your diary will begin telling you a story about yourself that you may not have realized. In general, people who are overweight are often emotional eaters. Think of your journal as therapy.
