Died - August 13, 1910 - buried at St Margaret's, East Wellow, near her parent's home, Embley Park in Hampshire.

Education/Work:

  • Home-schooled by Cambridge University educated father.
  • Nursing training at Kaiserswerth, near Dusseldorf.
  • Superintendent of the Establishment for Gentlewomen at No. 1 Harley Street, London in 1853.
  • Lady-in-Chief of 38 female nurses sent to military hospitals in Turkey.

Published Works - Cassandra (essay) Suggestions for Thought to the Searchers after Truth Among the Artizans of England, The Institution of Kaiserwerth (pamphlet), Notes on Nursing (small booklet)
Nursing - Established the Nightingale Training School for nurses at St Thomas' Hospital
