Let's Explore Laryngitis

Lost Your Voice?

By

Illnesses and diseases are often (and perhaps always) physical manifestations of disturbances in our emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies. When there is an imbalance in our being and we do nothing to bring ourselves back in balance we get physically sick.

"being" meaning the whole of our being... not just our physical shell

I telephoned a friend of mine a few days ago and when she picked up the phone on her end I could barely distinguish her raspy whispers. The doctor diagnosed her as having a sinus infection and immediately prescribed her some antibiotics. Although the antibiotics will likely address her physical ailment to bring about a healing, it will only be a partial healing if she isn't willing to get in touch with the underlying issues effecting her whole self.

This friend has been dealing with a lot of anger in her life recently. She has been having difficulty "voicing" her needs and desires in her personal relationships. It is no wonder that she literally lost her voice when in reality she already had lost her voice in stating her truth. Basically she is just plain outraged right now. She realizes she is full of pent-up anger. She is simmering hot... Hot... HOT!!! Getting laryngitis has caused her to even get more upset. She really wants to release her repressed feelings but now finds she can't voice them out loud. Fortunately, by looking at the big picture regarding her laryngitis, she now understands that she needs to work through her anger. Now she can get started working toward a whole self healing. Good for her!!!!

To find this point, squeeze thumb and forefinger together, forming a ridge above the thumb. The point is in the middle of the ridge, just above the end of the crease formed by thumb and forefinger. Put your finger (or eraser) on the point, relax your hand, apply pressure.
