Reflections and Resolutions
Sunday December 31, 2006
New Year's Eve - It's that time once again when we reflect on events of the passing year and prepare to turn to a fresh page as a new year begins. I've been a tad cynical about Making New Year Resolutions at times. The new year will unfurl whether we are ready or not so why attempt to resolve anything? I would not bother to make any resolutions, content to just let life come at me. I'm a relatively good dodger. "BRING IT ON" would be my mantra to taunt the new year.
However, in recent years I've come to realize that I don't have to be a moving target dodging spit balls life throws at me. I can choose how to react to things that are unpleasant by looking at them differently, or by not focusing on them as being negatives.

My 2007 New Year's Resoultion: "I resolve to live in a more affirmative light in the coming year."
I think I do that pretty well anyway but there is always room for improvement. To get the ball rolling, beginning tomorrow I will be posting daily blog entries throughout January to get myself in the groove of living in the affirmative and attracting positives into my life. I will also catalog my Daily Affirmative Project Posts. Getting better organized is also part of my "being more positive resolution - stay tuned.

I decided not to make a resolution but to have a revolution instead. I am going to make more art, with more energy and courage than ever before. By thinking of it as a turning over, it seems easier to do.
My new years resolutions are multifold, summarized in two sentences: 1. Get out of debt 2. Finish my dissertation. Peace is what I continue to seek and my resolutions will guide me into a peaceful state of being.
I dont know if I would call it a New Years resulution, we think of the resolution before New years…dont we?
Mine is broken down in parts - save money, see family more often & look after them, lose weight - I know you hear that one all the time, save for travel and get a job I want!
