Orange Therapy

By May 18, 2012

Follow me on:

mothers day

May 18, 2012 - Orange Therapy - When I was thinking about what healing topic to focus on this Friday, I was leaning toward color therapy... but I soon realized that what I really wanted to write about is my love of the color orange. Although, what I don't love is orange hair... which is what a poorly managed henna treatment left me with a couple of days ago.

As more and more grays have been showing up I have learned I must follow up my henna treatment with an indigo treatment to the front and side portion of my hair -where the grays are!!- to avoid that carrot-top look. To learn how I tamed my bright orange hair read my postscript at Coloring Your Silvers and Grays with Henna and Indigo. The only time I loved having orange hair was in my aura picture.

Orange hasn't always been my favorite color. Like most little girls I adored lavenders and purples... violets are my favorite flower as well. My love for orange popped up when I was in the fifth grade and the fad was for girls to wear orange laces in denium blue tennis shoes. I didn't have a pair because I had to wear orthopaedic footwear due to severe foot pains I experienced as a child. Not even orange laces could improve the looks of those ugly shoes. Still... orange became my new favorite color after that!

Wearing orange isn't always easy, I'm particular about the shade... a too vibrant color of orange can give off a hot or high-energy frequency that is difficult to maintain without depleting personal energies. Whereas, burnt oranges are warming, corals more cooling.

Orange is also the color associated with the sacral chakra, a sexually-charged oozy energy vortex. This chakra is where creativity births and where emotional feelings are stored and discharged from. Focusing on the color orange can juice up your sexual urges and desires. If you are experiencing a lack luster period in your love life add a some orange accessories to your bedroom decor.

How do you feel about orange? What is your favorite healing color?

Hello Dinesh,

Thank you for posting. I appreciate your compliments and show of gratitude. I feel honored whenever I learn my work is helping others.

Green is a heart-healing color, very appropriate aura color for a healer.

I call my favorite color of orange “Tibetin Monk Orange” after the robes they wear.
I remember going to the ballet in Pgh. and they were doing a lovely abstract Balanchine piece. I had been feeling depressed and when the dancer came out with the long orange skirt my depression just lifted away!

It was a real turn around moment in my emotional life. Viva Le’Orange!
