Note from Rose: I received so many excellent questions that it was difficult to choose with my head so I made the choice shamanically. It is my hope that the question, sent in from a woman in Spain, will also benefit many others who struggle with a similar issue.
But one thing very strange happened in the day before his accident. It was acctually the last time I saw him "healthy." It was this last Halloween night, I came back home from a birthday party and started to get dressed to go out again. Since my friends were waiting for me downstairs everything happened really fast. Agua started to cry really strong, it even scared me as something had happened to him. He was waiting in the door. I thought he wanted to go out with me as he realized I was gonna leave soon. (He was a cat, but we would go out together all the time... to the park, the beach, for walks... my friends would say he was like a dog.) Anyway, I don't think he wanted to go with me though. When he wanted to go out, he would stay in front of the door with his tail balancing. When I went to see whats up, he started to run around for me to go after him, (I know the way he jumps around when he wants me to go after him) then he would start crying again. My friends were waiting so I took him, put him in my bed and left fast; before I look at him and said "Bebe, don't worry, I will be back soon." He looked at me like he didn't understand why I didn't stay.
When I came back I realized he had fallen from my window. I found him in a garden next to my apartment and took him to a vet clinic. They operated on him but he didn't resist. Imagine how guilty I felt. This all makes me so confused, why he was crying so hard? Did he know we were going to be separated for a while? I NEED to know! I know there's a message but not sure what it is!! He never cried like that before. He didn't go after me when he fell out of the window. H was a very intelligent cat. Please help me out! What do you think it all means? Thank you soooo much for this comfort.
Patricia
Hello Rose, I'm so so sad my cat Agua passed away. I used to call him Bebe (like babe but in Portuguese). He was everything to me and nothing makes me wake up in the morning if I don't hold the idea that he will come back to me. I've been reading a lot about animal reincarntion and it all makes me go on.
Dear Patricia, first let me offer my condolences for your unexpected loss of Agua. It is clear that you had a wonderful and loving relationship.
When speaking with animals that have crossed over one message has come through from all of them, and that is to tell their person not to worry about them or feel guilty. They always assure me that they are fine; their concern is always for the loved ones they leave behind when they make the transition into Spirit.
However when the death of a loved one is traumatic - whether through accident or illness - the sudden shock can result in trauma to our own energy fields - creating feelings that go deeper than the usual grieving process. In those situations it is not enough to simply tell your head or heart to forgive yourself, often some form of energy healing is needed in order to restore balance. Without balance to the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical bodies a person can remain stuck in the grieving process, unable to heal or move on. Such blockages can result in personal health issues if experienced long-term, so it is important to address them sooner rather than later, if possible.
Your bond with Agua was clearly a close one on both sides, and like many such relationships you have been able to understand each other well. When we experience a severe shock such as the loss of one we love we may think we have lost that connection, which is not true. Being out of balance, without full capacity of energy flowing to all levels, can result in a loss of awareness of connection. If we are not connected within our own bodies, then how can we connect with anyone else?
There are a number of simple remedies that might be available to you such as smudging to clear your space/energy field of heavy energy, flower essences (Bach's Rescue Remedy might be helpful), or homeopathic remedies for shock.
If there is so much trauma that it is difficult to think or focus it may be best to ask for a healing session from a qualified energy practitioner. Once the shock and trauma are cleared and energy is flowing again it is much easier to be open and available to receiving messages or to know if your loved one has come back in a new body.
Message from the Animals
The message from the animals, to everyone who has experienced loss, is a simple one: offer kindness, forgiveness and support to yourself first, and all else will follow as it should.

I don’t think you really answered her questions. It seemed that she wanted to know what happened the night that she was going out and the cat was acting so strangely.
Her question has not been answered. The ways and means to lessen the effects of her grief has been dealt with. But she required some specific answers.
I agree, too!! The answer was very generic. It reminded me of a fortune teller saying “I see that you’ve lost someone very close to you”. EVERYBODY has lost a loved one at some time or another!
. She wants to know why her cat acted that way before he fell. What was he trying to tell her?
