Why Were Angels Singing to Me?

Hi Eileen,

I had gone to bed early and awoke to a choir singing a hymn that sounded like the Lord's Prayer. I thought my husband, who was in another room, was watching a television show that was playing a church hymn. I wondered what he was watching but I went back to sleep. The next morning I asked him what show was he watching last night with the church song. He said none of the shows he watched had church songs. I asked my neighbor if she was playing church songs last night and she said no. Was I hearing the angels sing this hymn? It sounded like a gothic or Episcopal or Methodist type hymn with no instruments, only voices. The main voice was male but there were female and male voices. The words of the song had "His will be done, on Earth as it is in heaven! The power and the glory, forever." Were these angels? What is the message? Why were they singing to me?

Dear Chrissie,

Oh my, how wonderful. Yes, this was an experience of clairaudience that came from the higher realms. They want you to know about the wonders of spiritual life and to reconnect and bring that part of yourself into your daily life.

These are less common than other mystical experiences, to hear the music of the Higher Realms, so how blessed that was! I had a similar experience once and I will never forget the sound. For a few seconds I heard a female voice accompanied by the sound of bells or something like bells. I am sure the actual sound cannot be duplicated on this Earth. It truly was angelic and ethereal and it came from the ceiling during meditation.

This occurs most of the time to people who are "wired" to be clairaudient which is one of the more elusive of the claires. Ironically, as the most elusive gift it is also the one gift that most people expect to have. In my previous question in this column we discussed that everyone is wired with gifts to be aware of the Divine so be sure to read that. I'd also like to discuss how to figure out how you are wired and how to fine tune it.

Do you just know things without knowing why?
Do you tend to have a analytical mind? Are you male?
Are you a student of life, a scholar, avid reader or love to learn?
Are you good at math, a computer whiz, or consider yourself to be highly intelligent?

These types of people tend to be wired for Claircognizance or "clear knowing." Some ways to connect with this gift are meditation, guided imagery, energy work (especially in the crown chakra, head and shoulders), flower and gem elixirs and journaling. Try to catch yourself having negative thoughts and counter them with a positive thought. Crystals, especially clear quartz and citrine, work in your ears (i.e. earnings) or around your head.

Do you feel the hurt and pain of others?
Do you know how an event or circumstance feels for someone else even though you have never experienced it yourself?
Do you find yourself feeling low when you are around stressed or negative people?

These people tend to be wired for Clairsentience or "clear feeling." This is the more common claire among humans, horses, dogs and most animals. If you have this gift it is important to keep your body clear of negative energies you pick up from others. Some ways to connect with this gift are being out in nature, gardening, tending to plants, interacting with animals, laughter, massages, flower essences, gem elixirs and sea salt baths. Crystals, especially rose quartz, worn around your heart. Try not to watch or listen to TV that will upset you. Be around uplifting people. Your surroundings and home is very important. Keep it uncluttered and do things to create positive energy in the home. Movement such as walking (especially in nature) helps to keep clear. Be sure to get energy work, especially around the heart chakra and the abdomen.

Do you have conversations with yourself in your head?
Is music very important to you and can it change your mood?
Do loud, abrasive sounds disrupt you?
Can you identify people and actors from their voice?

These people tend to be clairaudient. Some ways to connect with this gift are through guided music imagery, uplifting channeled music and energy work around the third eye and ears. Try to catch yourself when you are saying negative things. Wear crystals in your ears (i.e. earnings).

Are you a visual person?
Do you love the visual arts, paintings and movies?
Is the beauty that surrounds you important?
Are you very drawn to color and can see variations in colors others can't?
Do you have an active imagination and consider yourself creative?

These people tend to be Clairvoyant, or "clear seeing." Some ways to connect with this gift are through guided imagery, color therapy, guided meditations, making your surrounding visually uplifting, painting and energy work around the third eye. Crystal energy work and crystals in your home, especially amethyst, are important. Try wearing or placing the amethyst around your head area.
