Both The Beav and Tonto's Son Take Healing Paths
The first person who popped up was Jerry Mathers, the actor who played "the Beav" on the Leave it to Beaver television show when he visited my home town this past week. Mathers is traveling with the Partnership for Prescription Assistance's bus tour, Help is Here Express. Mathers, challenged with diabetes, was on hand to give out autographs and greet his fans while they were waiting in line seeking help with their expensive prescription costs.
What is the Partnership for Prescription Assistance?
The Partnership for Prescription Assistance helps qualifying patients without prescription drug coverage get the medicines they need through the program that is right for them.
The second person who popped up today on the Internet is not an actor, but actually the son of actor Jay Silverheels who played "Tonto" on the television show The Lone Ranger. I stumbled onto Amanda Greene's article Son of American Indian actor lives a spiritual calling in Wilmington at StarNews. Native American Christian Minister Steve Silverheels has an interesting heritage which blends Native American and Catholic traditions from his father's family and a Jewish lineage from his mother. Chief Silverheels leads a life of ministry which includes prayer, healing touch, and blessings for his followers.
I've been trying to console my husband who had intended to go meet Jerry Mathers when he was here visiting, I even agreed to tag along and take a picture of him with Mathers. Unfortunately, we both forgot about it and didn't realize his visit had slipped our minds until the next day when we saw his photo on the front page of our local paper. My poor husband was really bummed about it. At least he does have in his possession a Polaroid of himself with Clayton Moore, the actor who portrayed The Lone Ranger. This snapshot that was taken in the mid-seventies. He was thrilled to meet Moore (see his cherished photo on Facebook).
