Dear Madeleine,

All my cats (Dave, Purdy, Lizzie, Sam and Lucy) are between 2 and 5 years of age, both male and female. I have attended Amelia Kinkade's animal communication workshop. I am a holistic therapist. I want to know if my cats can hear me when I talk to them telepathically. Are they happy and why can't I communicate with them? I want to work with animals in a healing capacity and would love to be able to communicate with them. Do you think this is ever going to happen for me? I love animals and it would be a dream come true to work with them.

Hi Nicola,
I think it is just about imagining a thread of love extending from our hearts to the animals. You can imagine this thread to be any colour you like. Just send all your love along this thread and with the greatest respect. Send the thought out that you would love to be of help to the animal and ask if there is anyway they can show you what you can do. The reply might be in the form or a mental picture, mental words, or just feelings, or a mixture of these. Trust your reactions and be willing to listen. Sometimes we can try too hard and get frustrated. Be gentle with yourself and be open to allowing your imagination to expand. This is how it starts, so don't be too dismissive by thinking "oh it's just my imagination." If we could never imagine ourselves doing anything- we never would! Learning how to communicate psychically is like stretching and developing a muscle that we haven't used in a long time. We are all inately telepathic, we've just forgotten along the way!
