In my neck of the woods (the midwest) there are plenty of festivals to attend during harvest time. I have visited corn festivals, grape festivals, and strawberry festivals. These were fun and had a carnival type atmosphere to them. But I think it would be really cool to be able to attend a ginseng festival. No chance, but I can imagine what it would be like to go. Ginseng has been used for thousands of years in support of good health.
This month (September 18 to 27) the annual Geumsan Insam Festival will be held in the South Chungcheong Province of Korea at the Ginseng Exhibition Complex and Ginseng Herbal Crossroads. Vendors will be selling foods cooked with ginseng and wine made from ginseng. Acupuncture treatments, ginseng foot baths, and ginseng cosmetics will be available. Oriental doctors will also be on hand to help educate festival attendees about the medicinal effects of ginseng.
