Tapping Your Higher Mind for Answers

Tuesday January 6, 2009
In My Mailbox Today...

Earl asks "I am hoping you have some advice concerning the Higher Mind. I was listening to a tape where this guy talks about getting into a meditative state and then moving into your Higher Mind to ask questions and improve yourself. I have not been able to get there. What might I be missing? Is there a feeling or a way to think about it to call on it or...?"

Dear Earl,

I think you are probably trying too hard. Just relax. Sometimes automatic writing helps. After you get into a quiet mind space write a question down on paper. Pause for a few moments and see if an answer flows better with pen in hand.

Do you have any advice for Earl? Please post your comments if you do.

(1) Rachel says:

Close your eyes and breath through your nose.
Once relaxed and a rhythm in your breath has developed concentrate on your breath without altering it.
Begin to notice the period after you have finished breathing out, and before you breathe back in.
Notice the emptiness at that point.
Try to extend that at each time.
Once you have extended it fully, you will notice that you are existing in that emptiness.
You may then not be able to feel the boundaries of your body as you become “one with the universe” ;)
Remain there for a time.
Come back gently by wiggling your fingers and toes.
Thank yourself for allowing yourself that time!
:)
