Join me in the 29 Day Gift Giving Challenge

Tuesday September 9, 2008
29 Day Gift Giving ChallengeA few days ago I received an invitation from Julie Salisbury to join her in taking the 29 Day Gift Giving Challenge. This morning, after exploring the 29 Day Gift Giving Challenge Network, I decided to join myself. I'm excited about becoming a part of this movement and have decided to also share it with you. I am a strong believer in giving to create the most positive "ebb and flow" of abundance back to me.

What is the 29 Day Gift Giving Challenge?

Give one thing away each day for 29 days. Why? Because to see the world change, we have to do something to change the world.
The 29 Day Giving Challenge was started by Cami Walker when she was inspired by her spiritual teacher, Mbali Creazzo. Mbali suggested that Cami change her focus from personal struggles to helping others for the next 29 days. Cami, challenged with Multiple Sclerosis, decided to give it a try. Cami says "By Day 29, I was astounded by the magical and miraculous shifts in my energy for life."

Cami was so enthusiastic about the changes in her own life that she decided to take the idea to the Internet. You can read about Cami and the 29 Day Gift Giving Challenge at 29gifts.org. She has also set up a giving challenge network at Ning - givingchallenge.ning.com

Following Cami's and Julie's lead I set up a Ning account and joined Cami's network. I also created a new group "About Holistic Healing" - If you choose to accept my invitation and join this giving movement please add me as your friend and join my group!

Isn’t this amazing? One of my readers just notified me about it today, and I was noodling around the 29 Gifts site, and thought how cool it would be to build a group of my About.com readers. And here you’ve gone and read my mind/beat me to the punch! It’s an awesome thing indeed.

Hi Patti,

I didn’t beat you by the punch for more than a day. I’m only on Day 2 of my personal challenge. I’ll be inviting my newsletter subscribers to join in next week. If/when you sign up let me know and I’ll add you to my friend list. I also hope you will the join the About group I’ve started.

This sounds very much like a Native American custom called pot-latching (is that how it’s spelled? I can never remember). It’s also a custom that I’ve been practicing for – well, for years now. I just can’t help myself! I swear, half the things I find, make, or buy seem destined to go to someone else! By the way, I’m always looking for a good home for my many craft projects, books, and handmade crafting materials. Well, Good Sharing everyone! And may your Karma always be positive!
