Carnival of Healing #154: Home Sweet Home
Welcome to this week's edition of the Carnival of Healing. The Carnival of Healing is a weekly round-up of blogs across the Internet featuring information about healing, self empowerment, and spirituality. Different bloggers volunteer to host the carnival on their blogs each week. From time to time the carnival makes its way back home -Home Sweet Home- for a visit between its interesting treks out into the blogosphere. It is important to return to your roots from time to time after all. Have you visited your mama lately?
Let's get this show on the road already, shall we?
Making Positive Changes
Cari Campbell suggests Change your life, Change your story, and maybe even live in the present. Wow! ... WOW is right. What-O-Wonderful post about co-creating a better life for ourselves. Cari says "Do you want to achieve real and lasting growth, move to a new level, and maybe even be happier? You can, and it’s easier than you think, but it does require consciousness and awareness."
Change therapist, Isabella Mori, tackles Step 6 in her series of blog posts discussing The Twelve Steps. Isabella asks Do you REALLY want to change?
Don't Worry, Be Happy is the theme in mag's self reflection post Energy follows thought in which she attributes Quantum Touch as the healing modality that helped her better understand the connection between our thoughts and energy.
Chris Edgar offers a valid lesson in his excellent post Learning To Let Life In. Chris is a frequent contributor to the Carnival of Healing and he never disappoints. This week Chris says "Many of us, to protect ourselves from being hurt, have cut ourselves off from our ability to fully experience life. This gives living a predictable, unfulfilling quality. In this article, I talk about ways to restore our appreciation and awe for the world around us."
Lovelyn (what a lovely name!) posts Stop Pleasing Others and Start Pleasing Yourself. This is a straightforward conversation that teaches the importance of nurturing our own needs and becoming a lighter and freer being. Good advice.
Health Tips and Advice
Avoid fluoride and learn how to make your own natural toothpaste.
Dean Moyer educates us about Microdiscectomy and Herniated Discs. She says "The first step in any journey is to decide where you want to go. With that in mind, here is a simple overview of spinal anatomy as related to degenerative disc disease in, The First Step in Repairing Herniated Discs."
Life and Death
Amit writes a moving post about dealing with death after her sister's passing. She writes, "The beauty of death is that is can remind you to live. Death will initially increase the value of life and will often get people to re-evaluate life."
Detox or Not?
Eden Danielson writes about Oprah Completing Her 21-Day Cleanse. I didn't know that Oprah was doing a detox diet. Actually I did, but soon forgot because I'm not personally a fan of extensive detox diets. If you routinely eat a healthy diet there shouldn't be a need to consider detoxing or fasting for more than a day or two. Eden doesn't feel everyone should undertake Kathy Freston’s 21 day diet either. Read her blog to find out why she feels this way.
Problems and Solutions
Ginsburg vents his personal frustrations regarding his concerns about sick buildings in Toronto not getting health inspections in his post Watchful waiting: Our declining healthcare. I certainly hope he gets some resolution soon.
Donald Latumahina, identifies Two Basic Relationship Problems which involve lack of action or lack of understanding. He does a good job bringing awareness to these issues.
Joshua Seth learns the hard way the importance of packing some health food when traveling. In his post How Not To Lose Weight he says "I got to the hotel just now and everything’s closed except for the bar. Only typical bar food is available: chicken wings, nachos, fried chicken tenders, cheeseburgers, etc. What a choice."
When dealing with personal tragedy in June '08 Nicholas Powiull contemplated "Why Do Human Beings Reach Rock Bottom?" His post includes insights and resources for How to Rise Above the Tragedies. Nicholas writes about healing power and clarity in making a conscious choice to climb out of despair. This ends the attractions for this week's carnival. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you next week. Continue reading if you are interested in visiting last week's carnival or are curious who will be hosting next week.
Blessings,
Phylameana
Volunteer to Host the Carnival on Your Blog
Yes, hosting takes some effort sorting through the various submissions and posting the carnival, but all my hosts have told me that the benefits are worth it. Hosting the carnival brings traffic to your blog, you have the opportunity to meet new friends, and you'll learn a lot when reviewing all the submissions.
I am currently seeking carnival hosts for October 4 and 11. All Saturdays in November are currently open too.
Volunteer to Host Now
Note: Carnival of Healing Editions are always posted on Saturdays. I realize that weekends are busy for many people and that getting to a computer is not always easy on Saturday. If you don't want to miss a carnival you can subscribe to my Holistic Healing Weekly Newsletter that is delivered to your email box on Tuesday mornings. A link is always provided to the current carnival edition.
Looking Back: Last week the carnival was hosted by Cari Campbell at Your Joyous Life
Looking Forward: Next week (Sept. 13) Gina Loree' Marks will be hosting the carnival at Embody Grace.
