The Carnival Broke Down

By , About.com Guide   July 7, 2008

Follow me on:

I'm sorry to report the weekend edition of the Carnival of Healing that was scheduled to be hosted on July 5th by Marcia at Aquatic Meditations Blog didn't happen. I've sent Marcia a couple of emails asking what could have happened, but I've yet to get a response from her. I'll let you know as soon as I know. If I don't hear back soon I won't promise but I may be able to get this edition posted myself before next week's edition. In any case, I'm certain the carnival will be up and operating by next week by Daylle Deanna Schwartz, Lessons From a Recovering DoorMat. You can also review last week's carnival edition - Carnival of Healing #144 - if you missed it.

To get your carnival fix you may want to check out Anja Merret's Carnival of Observations on Life as a roadside diversion. Enjoy!

What is the Carnival of Healing?

The Carnival of Healing is a weekly round-up of blogs across the Internet featuring information about healing, self empowerment, and spirituality.

Volunteer to Host the Carnival on Your Blog

Yes, hosting takes some effort sorting through the various submissions and posting the carnival, but all my hosts have told me that the benefits are worth it. Hosting the carnival brings traffic to your blog, you have the opportunity to meet new friends, and you'll learn a lot when reviewing all the submissions.

I am currently seeking carnival hosts for August 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.

The bad news (is this really news?) is that we shouldn't be expecting magic pills and that "brain age" is a fiction."

Shaheen Lakhan presents Blood Glucose and the Brain: Sugar and Short-Term Memory posted at Brain Blogger, saying, "Many adults suffer from undiagnosed short-term memory loss. Chris Edgar presents How Our "Enmeshments" Hold Us Back posted at Purpose Power Coaching, saying, "Many of us--consciously or otherwise--are influenced by a desire to please and avoid antagonizing people who no longer have authority over us, such as perhaps our parents or teachers. Psychologists say we’re “enmeshed” with someone when we see making sure we please them as more important than our own goals and wellbeing. As I describe in this article, I’ve found that just keeping ourselves aware of who we’re trying to please by holding ourselves back in life does much to free us from our enmeshments."
