Sylvia Browne's Psychic Gifts Being Challenged

Saturday January 27, 2007
The integrity of psychic mediums has been called into question since the discovery and return of Shawn Hornbeck. Shawn was kidnapped four years ago and found alive recently in the home of his abductor in Kirkwood, Missouri. Within a year of Shawn's disappearance, Sylvia Browne told his parents, Pam and Craig Akers, that Shawn had been abducted by a dark-skinned, or Hispanic looking man with dreadlocks and that he was no longer living. Sylvia's incorrect prediction of Shawn's death was aired on The Montel Williams Show in February 2003.

A clip of the Feb. 03 program was replayed on Larry King Live Friday evening. Guests on the show were renowned medium Rosemary Altea, and psychic skeptic James Randi, Magician. In her defense, a statement from Sylvia regarding her early prediction of Shawn's abduction and death has been posted on her Web site at sylvia.org.

This goes to prove the points I made in “Voices from Beyond: The God Force, the Other Side, and You.” Most spiritual mediums fail to understand why or how they communicate with the Other Side. As a result, the messages they ‘receive’ are often fragmented and in need of interpretation.

Hi!, i read the message on her site and i don’t know, i mean she doesn’t even say something to the parents of the boy…it was more a defensive message for what the sceptic man may have said on the show…

But i don’t think people should put everyone in the same “bag” (a saying in my language), just because of someone misinterpretation, which i can understand is something that can happen, because at the end, the only one who is 100% accurate is the Creator…

Sylvia Browne, I’ve NEVER had faith in her and have always felt she was a phony….maybe I’m more psychic that she? ha ha

(4) Alaskan woman says:

We experienced the same thing in Alaska when Uri Geller was hired to try and help locate an Alaskan man missing in an airplane. Mr. Geller entertained us by bending silverware and keys, and gave us specific references to where the plane had crashed in the hills. The missing man’s body later washed up on the shores of Cook Inlet, so the plane had obviously crashed in the water, far from the hills Mr. Geller references. The bent spoons were impressive, tho :)

I think people are to closed minded. Think about all the other people Sylvia has helped. One mistake out of how many good things she has done. People need to be more open minded, how many mistakes do we make?

I also believe that people who are truely psychic, defend other psychic people, mistakes and all, exspecialy when they do good for others.

I am sorry but at least Sylvia says that she is not 100% correct. No one can be. Not to mention when you get a room full of people and a room full of energy you never know what you are going to get. She may have been picking up on someone else’s energy.
Obviously the man didn’t have dreadlocks so there is another abduction that has not been solved. Why are they not looking into that? I am sure those parents would be glad if they did that.

I have watched Sylvia Brown many times on Montell’s show. Even when guests do not identify with her information she still insists that she is right and they are either mistaken or stupid. She does not admit to mistakes and she is extremly arrogant. I believe she is gifted. She cheapens her God given gifts by attaching a pricetag to them.

(9) Jim Fridas says:

A little research will lead you to the sleeping prophet Edgar Cayce, he went into a trance and would then go to the akashic records for answers, 100% correct in his healing, there are truly good spiritualists and mediums some just better than others, less sketiscism and more positive helps keep you balanced. Another excellent psychic Ruth Montgomery, the book stores and the internet are filled with great psychics, check it out and don’t let Sylvia Browne get you down.
