Here’s a technique for working on your affimations:

Hear the phrase you said diminishing in volume until it disappears, then hear the phrase you want to say grow louder.

Alternately, you can see the “picture” of what you didn’t like go spin away from you and have the picture of what you do want spin towards you.

In this way we lessen the importance of the negative thought and give greater importance to the positive thought.

Today I am full of energy and my body is perfect.

Some of what you say has truth but Let me restate one thing.. You have to be in congruence with Natural law… The law of expectation states: results can never exceed the combined value of the cause however a result can become a cause. they can also create perpetual motion which leads to momentium and the effect can be grater than the original cause… what I mean is this, You can’t realistically expect something to happen just by stating it over and over again if you dont have the knowledge or skill set to make it happen. stating i am a millionaire when your not and you dont have the knowledge to be or the skill set is actually creating a negitive conatation… It is the law of attraction in reverse you are actually repelling that not attracting it.. what you need to affirm is is something you have the present ability to achieve and state what you want in the future tense i.e. if you want to make a million dollars state I want to be a millionaire then state something you are doing to get there in the positive like I am making 100 calls a day to add new clients or something to that effect.. watch your tense, I am all about living in the moment but when it comes to your subconcious mind, living in the moment the wrong way can have a major impact on what is actually happening..

I have read/learned that they are more powerful when phrased beginning with “I am” … Stating affirmations in positive, present tense sentences creates a clear channel. (”I am…” acknowledges a person’s connection to the divine.)

I am a hard worker. I am not afraid to try my utmost. I give my job my all and at the end of the day I’m proud of my effort.

I CAN CHANGE ANY ASPECT OF MY LIFE!

What Kyle has stated above is correct.

However, in addition, in order to create the change, one must also DESIRE that change.

Thoughts repeated regularly and systematically sink into the subconscious mind and become habitual, these of course are called affirmations. Finding the right affirmation must come from within. It is important that they are written in your own words since the subconscious will react better to your own thoughts than to the thoughts of someone else. Start by taking notice of what you DESIRE to change in yourself. Write down on paper your thoughts, desires and feelings that you wish to improve upon.

Then you need to use words and phrases in a positive manner rather than a negative manner. As an example, if you wanted to quit smoking, you don’t want your affirmation message to be “Cigarette smoking makes me sick” because you will in turn cause yourself to get sick. It is better to program a message like “I am a non-smoker” or “I am healthy and dislike the smell and taste of cigarette smoke” thereby telling the subconscious to see a different you. But it goes deeper than that, you need to have the DESIRE to change towards what your affirmation reflects. It produces better results when your affirmation and your DESIRE to change work hand in hand to overcome your obstacle. The power to overcome smoking will not be effective if you do not have the desire to honestly quit. By using the DESIRE to change and a powerful affirmation program, success can then be within your reach.

I quit smoking two years ago. Cold Turkey. I have the Desire to smoke every single day. Strong Desire. I have also been a vegetarian for almost two years. Once again, I have a strong desire to eat meat (especially steak) every day. Yes, I also have the desire not to do these things, but most days I would say the desire is greater on the side of smoking and eating meat, the difference being that I make a conscious CHOICE to pick the healthier of the two. Yes, one needs desire to spark a change…I agree. In order to successfully make that change, a choice needs to be made as well.

That said;
Today I will make an effective choice.

I can appreciate Kyle’s interpretation. Nevertheless, our starting point is not in the physical but in the meta-physical, the spiritual, above natural law. Here we
excercise Belief. Trust. Faith. The Bible reads, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

I am abundantly provided for by the Universe.

I am worthy of sincere, trusting, affectionate love.

Today I honor myself and listen to my inner spirit telling me I am a loved daughter of Heavenly Father.
