Chuckle for Low-Carbers
Wednesday August 11, 2004
The other night when I could not sleep I was mindlessly watching one of those make-over shows that discuss the benefits of having Botox treatments done for special occasions. One example given was for the mother of the bride who desires looking refreshed for her daughter's wedding day will arrange Botox injections beforehand.
Who wants a tired and haggard looking mother in the wedding photos afterall? Well, I won't be having Botox done, but I do have a real strong incentive to maintain the fifteen pound loss that I achieved a few months ago on the South Beach Diet. Two of my three children are getting married in 05, my oldest son and my daughter. I have the lovely outfit I'll be wearing as mother of the bride hanging in my closet anticipating my daughter's big day in March. My son's wedding march will follow on his sister's heels a few weeks later in the month of May, so I best not eat too much of my daughter's wedding cake either, or the mother of the groom will blimp out. For this reason I continue to keep in step with other low carbers if only in maintenance mode. Anyway, this morning I stumpled onto this hilarious article by Jack Hyde in The Holland Sentinel regarding the lowcarb fad that continues to thrive in our society. I cannot resist but share it with fellow low-carbers.
