Title: Learn to be an Optimist
Author: Lucy MacDonald
ISBN: 0811841693
A Practical Guide to Achieving Happiness - As
an avid reader and lover of books, I consider the discovery of a good book to
be one of life's most delicious pleasures. This month I experienced just one
such pleasure in reading a wonderful new publication entitled: Learn to Be an
Optimist, by Canadian author Lucy MacDonald. Subtitled: Visualize your way to
success, find lifelong confidence and happiness, discover self-belief, this
book is a treasure-trove of self-help tips, tricks and tools for anyone seeking
a greater sense of happiness, fulfillment and satisfaction in life.
The first item to strike the eye is the beautiful presentation of the book. As part of a self-help and wellness series by Duncan Baird Publishers, its softly-coloured illustrations and helpful sidebars offering additional tips and information relating to the subject of discussion make it a very enjoyable read.
Backed by solid research, the book covers a broad range of issues including the benefits of optimism, how to manage your health, overcoming depression, aging with attitude, stress management, how to use visualization techniques, the benefits of laughter, and how to develop optimistic relationships.
In Learn to be an Optimist, you will learn simple meditation and relaxation techniques, how to maintain a positive outlook even in the most trying of times, and how to optimize your mental health. With a writing style that is clear and very accessible, you will acquire techniques and approaches that will serve you well for the rest of your life, and perhaps maybe even pass on to your children and grandchildren. All in all, a must read for all.
What a wonderful gift idea!
