FDA Plans to Ban Ephedra

In the News - The Food and Drug Administration made the announcement today of its plans to ban the sale of the herbal supplement Ephedra which is used by dieters and athletes. The FDA has concluded that Ephedra is not safe for consumers, stating that studies have suggested links to health problems, including stroke, heart palpitations and insomnia. Ephedra is a Chinese herb known as Ma-Huang.
